Project Life Week Three

I am slowly catching up on the year.  Note to self: Order your kit in December next year so you will be ready to go in January!

Week three was a very busy week as we traveled to New York for training.  We stayed at the W hotel in Hoboken, NJ. They had this wonderful metal/magnet mural of the New York Sky line on the wall in the entry way from artist Anne Carrington . While in NY we saw "How to Succeed in Business" again -- this time staringDarren Criss. Later that week we picked up Ben's new Audi.

Project Life Week Two

During the second week of the year, my order from Amazon came!

 Since I was waiting for the page protectors to come in I did some internet searches to find cool free printables.  I found a great "The Week Of" 4x6 card from the Please Send Chocolate blogspot that I downloaded.  I changed the color of the font to match the Clementine motive and added a flower from Jessica Sprague's Amber Edition Digital Extra Elemtents package. The "Keep Calm and Click on" card comes from Sugar Hill Co.

Project Life Week One

I am really enjoying the Project Life method of scrapbooking your weeks.  Now the kids are grown and gone most of my photos are "holiday" based and therefore, I miss capturing the normal and ordinary.  With that in mind -- here is Week One!

The first week of the new year found me catching up on the holiday craft projects I had planned.  Our travel schedule during November and December kept us quite busy and thus I was not able to complete these projects prior to Christmas.  I had a nice relaxing week of crafting and now I have several new decorations to add to the collection for next year!

Project Life

Project Life by Becky Higgins is a great program for scrapping your day-to-day life.  The idea is to simply pair your photos and journaling with pre-designed title cards and journaling cards. Your photos, these cards, and even your memorabilia slip into the Photo Pocket Pages and that's it. The result is a stylish masterpiece that represents your life or whatever occasion you choose to record. With Project Life's beautifully simple format, deciding what supplies to use or how to design layouts becomes obsolete, leaving you more time to cultivate the life you want!

I had to wait a bit before I could get started because Amazon was out of the page protectors and as you know they are the basis for the process. But now they were released and I have gotten started on the project.  Since I couldn't decide on which style, I ordered both the Amber edition as well as the Clementine version. Here is my initial title page.

 

What would I do without Pinterest

While perusing Pinterest I ran across this fantastic idea!

So I made my own!

I think it needs a bit more support in the middle but it is such a great way to store the twine -- it is out of the way but decorative at the same time!

2012 Project Life

I purchased the Clementine and Amber versions of Becky Higgin's 2012 Project Life series but when I saw the "Twenty 12" card from the Cobalt version, I was envious there wasn't one for the Amber or Clementine collection.  So I made my own!

Out of Print

Last summer I fell in love with Basic Grey's Out of Print Collection. I found the Out of Print Page Kit at Archiver's in Boise, Idaho. The kit included enough paper and embellishments to make four 12x12 layouts. Here are three of them...

The first "Sassy" was made using "Lithograph", "Bits and Pieces" and "Story Teller"

 

The next page "Living the Dream" was made using "Giclee", "Etching", and "Publication".

The final page "One of a Kind" was made using "Impasto", "Giclee", and "Daily News".

Happy Thanksgiving

At a recent crop I was given the opportunity to work with the Crate Paper Farm House collection. The beautiful greens, russets, golds and browns just asked for a Thanksgiving layout.

 The papers used in this layout include: Country Side, Apple Pie, Cross Stitch, Cupboard, Sunday Dinner, Farmers Market and Sweet Corn. The embellishments include the Family chipboard accent and the brown wheel and Thankful stand outs.  I also added a couple of embellishments from the Me and My Big Ideas Soft Spoken Cornucopia accents.

A little love from Starbucks

I love the cups Starbucks' uses at Christmas time, but this is the first time I remember getting a valentines day cup!   What could be better than a nice hot latte in a cup with hearts?

 

IKEA Boxes

Some time ago I pinned this cute IKEA Box to Pinterest:

 

I finally got around to doing one of my own.  I bought mine at a yard sale so I don't think my box is from Ikea, but the idea is the same.

I had one piece of very old 12x12 pattern paper from Carolee's Creations Adornit that was a color block of the green, orange, blue and brown.  Thanks to my mathematician husband we were able to piece all the colors together on each drawer to make a quilted pattern.  The color block on the original sheet of paper had double "stitching" lines around each of the colored blocks so I continued that theme around each of the "quilt" blocks.  Then I used rub on stickers from Rhonna Farrer, Heidi Grace and Fancy Pants Designs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally I coated the drawers with sealer to protect the paper and to add some shine!
